Your mailing list
How clients join your mailing list from your booking pages and choose what to hear about, how they confirm, the one switch that offers it, the options you name, exporting the list, the consent record, and who writes to the list.
Your mailing list is how a client says what they want to hear from you about, apart from any one event's times. It is in Audience → Mailing list, beside the bulletin board and openings notifications. The owner and admins see it; a team member doesn't.
Joining
While Show a “Join the mailing list” button on your booking pages is on and at least one option exists, your page and every event page offer Join the mailing list (under the openings bell on an event page). A new business starts with it off. The switch turns on once your business's mailing address is in Settings → Profile: emails to your list must show it. Turning it off hides the button, so nobody new can join; everyone already on the list stays on it. Each event's Event page options and Settings → Branding show a greyed row saying whether the button shows, with a link back to this switch.
The client gives their name and email, ticks what to hear about (nothing is ticked for them), and gets an email with a Confirm my sign-up button; nothing reaches your contact book, and no email from the list reaches them, until they press it on the page it opens. Then they land in Contacts, where the Mailing list column reads Subscribed: and each topic they chose (Subscribed: Openings for openings), filterable and in the CSV export; someone who leaves the list reads Unsubscribed.
Under the topics, the dialog says who gets their address and who may write to them: their email address is shared with you for the updates they choose, you may send those through Schedulign or from your own email service, and they can unsubscribe at any time. Every email Schedulign sends them from the list carries the link that changes their choices or leaves the list; your own emails can't carry it, so give them your own unsubscribe link.
What people can hear about
Every business starts with two options, Openings and last-minute times and News and updates. Audience → Mailing list renames them, removes them or adds your own, such as "Workshops and events", and shows how many people chose each.
Writing to your list
Schedulign collects sign-ups; you email them from your own tools. Export this list downloads the people on it now as a CSV: their name, email, the same Subscribed: labels as Contacts, the topics they chose and when they joined. Export it again before each email you send, so anyone who left isn't on it.
Schedulign itself sends only the email that confirms each sign-up, and Send new openings notification on an event reaches the people who chose Openings and last-minute times too (see Openings notifications). Those openings emails pause while your business has no mailing address in Settings → Profile.
Download consent record gives a spreadsheet of each consent: what the person chose, where they signed up, and when they asked and confirmed.
The mailing list is apart from openings notifications: those are automatic emails about one event's times (see Openings notifications), and a client can have both.
